Just so everyone knows, anytime we get a review of a lawyer, we reach out to the person that submitted the review and ask them to confirm their identity. That’s all we do. We do not show bias towards anyone. Recently I received a glowing review of an attorney that was in contrast to a review that I had posted based on public information. Just like all the other reviews, I reached out to the person and asked them to confirm their identity. I never heard back and so I took their review off. Plain and simple. If anyone thinks we aren’t fair in our assessments, that is incorrect. I look forward to more of your reviews. Thanks for helping your community.

We get a lot of calls from people that have a legal question or situation and need some help. In talking to them I realize a couple of things.
1. The Yellow Pages is a horrible place to try to find an attorney. That is if you can even still find a Yellow Pages to use. Did you know that the only reason the Yellow Pages is being published in Nevada is because of attorneys and “entertainers”? I realize that the Yellow Pages isn’t one big directory that just lists everyone by name. You do have the ability to at least search by area of practice. At least that narrows it down to about 30 attorneys per category, great. Do you then choose by who has the best ad, who looks the most “lawyer” like or whose name starts with an “A”. Those are all bad reasons to choose an attorney by the way but don’t be ashamed if that’s how you pick your restaurants.
2. The internet really isn’t much better. You can be a little more specific in your search terms and hopefully get better results. You can look at an attorneys website and get a better feel for who they are. You can do some research which is even better. That still leaves a lot to be desired though. Attorneys can make themselves look however they want and make themselves sound like they are the best attorney in the world.
So what is the solution you ask? First reach out to your good friends. It might be difficult to find a friend that has dealt with a situation similar to yours but I imagine that if you ask around you can find someone with first hand knowledge of an attorney that can help you.
Secondly, look to a 3rd party for a referral. AttorneyGuide.com, LLC performs background checks on all members of the directory. We have done the due diligence so you don’t have to. We don’t guarantee that the firm we refer you to is going to be able to help but we do guarantee that they are ethical and will be trustworthy. If you’re looking for a lawyer, attorney or law firm in Reno, please send me an e-mail – cj@attorneyguide.com or go to our website www.attorneyguide.com. Thanks.

We here at AttorneyGuide.com care only about changing the reputation of attorneys across the country. Almost every day I read something in the news about an attorney or someone holding a high position in the legal field getting caught for an unscrupulous act. We must all work together to make sure the lawyers we work with are held to the highest standards possible. You have a choice when you seek legal counsel. When you choose an attorney make sure to ask them if they are Certified Ethical. They probably won’t know what that means but they need to. It means that they have passed a very thorough background check with us and the bar associations and have been deemed ethical and trustworthy. A 3rd party has determined that they are ethical and trustworthy. If they aren’t Certified Ethical, find out why. Tell them that they need to be or that you won’t hire them. If attorneys start to lose business because potential clients have question marks about their ethics, don’t you think that will make them think twice?
So if you’re looking for an attorney in Reno or Las Vegas, please make sure to ask they attorney if they are Certified Ethical. If you are looking for an attorney that has already been certified, please go to www.attorneyguide.com.
Together we can make a change. Thanks.
