In another not so shocking bit of news, a Las Vegas Lawyer has pleaded guilty to stealing money from his clients personal injury settlements. Lawrence Davidson, who is 45 years old, plead guilty today in court. Here’s a summary of the charges:
• 20 counts of mail fraud and four counts of money laundering;
• One count of making a false statement in a passport application, one count of aggravated identity theft and two counts of willfully failing to appear at court hearings;
• One count of violating his supervised release by failing to notify the probation office of a change of address.
The sentencing is expected to be 8 1/2 years in prison and over 900,000 in restitution.
As you know, we’ve been keeping track of these sort of things for the last few years and are trying to make everyone aware that there are very bad lawyers out there. I continuously hear about lawyers in Las Vegas and Reno taking advantage of their client and it just sickens me. What’s more amazing to me is the length of time that these lawyers get away with these actions before anything of consequence happens to them, if anything actually ever does. So the point that I consistently make is to take a few minutes, do some research online, do your due diligence and give us a call before you hire an attorney. They may have a fancy website with a lot of credentials and what not but they still should be reviewed. Ask them if they are Certified Ethical. Why would any good attorney have an issue with going through a background check? I won’t hire any attorney unless I know for sure they are ethical. If you don’t have the time to do the research then you can use our website and find an attorney in the area of law you are searching. We’ve already done the work for you. Check us out at www.attorneyguide.com or send me an e-mail at cj@attorneyguide.c0m. I’d love to give you a referral to an attorney you know you can trust.

In a very interesting story that I’ve been following for some time now, 2 Las Vegas Lawyers who had been accused of federal corruption in a HOA scandal have both been found dead. From what the police report is stating, both were apparent suicides. The deaths happened 5 days apart from each other. Both individuals were Las Vegas Attorneys. David Amesbury had reached a plea deal and was to be sentenced in September. Prosecutors in the federal investigation were building a case again Quon. Quon was a prominent construction defect lawyer in Las Vegas.
I highlight just another instance where there are lawyers committing egregious acts and breaking every ethical rule that governs over those that are licensed to practice law. I preach this constantly but you must do your due diligence while searching for an attorney. Or you could let AttorneyGuide.com direct you to an attorney that we’ve already screened for you and you know you can trust. Go to www.attorneyguide.com, we have lawyers in nearly every category and they are available to help you today. Thanks very much.

Is there anyone left to trust? The news of Chief Deputy District Attorney David Shubert being arrested on Saturday night for possession of rock cocaine has once again rattled the legal community. If you’re not aware of who he is exactly or his role, the Chief Deputy DA was responsible for handling high profile drug cases for Las Vegas Nevada. He handled the cases of Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars. Now investigators must go through all of his previous cases to make sure there was nothing wrong in the way he handled them.
I’m just saddened to hear this news. It comes as no surprise since we are all susceptible to falling from grace. It’s certainly more disturbing though when it happens to someone that we put in charge of enforcing the law and keeping us safe. This is just one more reason why we focus all of our time and energy on screening attorneys and making sure they are ethical so that you can trust them and know that they will handle your case in an honorable way. What happened to David Schubert came as a shock to everyone and I can’t say that all of our attorneys are perfect but we take what we do very seriously and try to connect you with the most trustworthy lawyers in Las Vegas.
If you have a need for a Las Vegas Lawyer, please go to www.attorneyguide.com or call us at (800) 748-5590. Thanks.
