Thomas Lloyd Qualls.
I’ve never been one to fit any one stereotype. My legal career is no different. My skill set includes effective research and persuasive writing and speaking, along with a solid grasp of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Criminal Defense, Appellate Advocacy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. While the majority of my legal work has been in the field of Criminal Appeals, Death Penalty Litigation, and Pardons Board representation, my experience also includes a growing practice representing Homeowners in Foreclosure Mediation and Loan Modification. I represent clients at all levels of criminal defense, state and federal. I have additional training and experience in Business Transactions and Non-Profit Structuring. Finally, I have completed a rigorous 40-hour course in Mediation and enjoy a growing practice in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Experience.
I have a broad scope of professional experience from which to draw over the last two decades. My experience spans from work as a copywriter for an advertising agency to participating in 20 highly complex death penalty cases. I bring over 18 years of professional experience in research and writing to the table, as well as 8 years of courtroom experience. I have practiced at every level in the State of Nevada -- from Juvenile Court to the Nevada Supreme Court -- as well as the highest court in the nation, the United States Supreme Court.
In 2009, I successfully opposed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari before the United States Supreme Court in the Death Penalty case of State v. Harte, 124 Nev. Adv. Rep. 82, 194 P.3d 1263 (2008), cert denied, 129 S. Ct. 2431 (2009). As a result, my client’s death sentence was reversed and it can never be reinstated.
Confidential Consultations.
I offer free consultations for most matters and strive to keep all fees reasonable. Rest assured that all consultations are completely confidential. My office does not engage in any hard-sell techniques. Remember, the most important thing to consider in hiring a lawyer is that you trust them and feel comfortable putting your affairs in their hands.
If you are interested in discussing any legal matter you have, be it criminal, civil, or foreclosure mediation, please contact my office at 775.333.6633 or stop by during business hours at 720 Tahoe Street, Suite B, Reno, Nevada 89509.
